Eleven Tips for Women New to Spanking

It is natural for a woman to have some illusions going into the world of spanking, and also some worries in her head. For women who are getting married to a husband they know will spank them, or who are expecting that their husband will start soon, after years living together without discipline, it can feel like a step into the dark. She doesn’t know exactly how her husband will handle matters, how he will spank her, exactly what she might get in trouble for, and if she will be able to handle it. She may doubt its efficacy, and think her own problems will be insurmountable. Beginning discipline can inspire awe, attraction, and irrational fears. The spanking world is new, and likely so are the rules she has to follow. I want to offer some simple words of advice for such women to help them enter into a life which will include being humbled and being spanked.

1: You have to trust deeply. Marriage includes trust and so does discipline. You will trust your man to make helpful rules. You will trust him to decide when a spanking is called for. You will trust him to carry it out in an effective manner, including that he is safe and does not injure you. You put all of your body under his power and his care. Being under authority and being spanked is much easier with deep trust, and you will have to let go of trying to decide things for yourself, let go of wanting to argue and be right, and just be still at heart and trust your husband. Your role needs to be to follow. Be still and trust him to do right.

2: Do not linger on fear. While fear is natural when entering a lifestyle being disciplined, do not hold on to it, or it will grow irrationally strong. It will also dampen other feelings, ones which will let you grow from your spanking, and serve your husband better. Dwelling on your fear will mislead you. Let your mind linger instead on what you have to learn from your discipline, and how much you love and respect your husband. Let it think about how you will express remorse to your husband and how you will please him. If you trusted this man enough to marry him, you trust him enough to receive correction from him.

3: The short-term pain and humbling is more than worth the long-term fruit in your life and character. A spanking sometimes gets pumped up into a mere act of giving and receiving pain, but it is much more than this. Whatever the hardship of a spanking, it is passing, lasting a matter of minutes, alongside verbal correction. The fruit it bears is the good fruit of discipline, which is long lasting, blessing the woman and blessing the marriage. That benefit makes the brief pain of the spanking, even a harsh one, more than worth the effort.

4: Don’t think you need to know how everything will work, since some things will always be worked out with time, and be adapted to new situations. What is the way at the start of the marriage may well not be the way five years later. Discipline will evolve, and your husband will make adjustments based on what is working best, and on what he sees you need. As always, don’t try to be in control, and know that some of what you fear and do not like is good for you. Something you think your husband is wrong about you will find he is right about. Let discipline take its own form, regardless of your preconceptions and regardless of how others may practice it. The end goal is what matters most.

5: It is a journey in giving up pride, giving up false autonomy, and in being refined. To enter into a life in which you’ll be disciplined is to lose things which are bad for you. It is an upward slope, not a downward one, despite the shameful feeling you have when you get in trouble. You are being lifted up in the long run. Being humbled and corrected betters your attitude by lowering your ego. Pride is foul, and is the cardinal sin, taking us away from God and from a close walk with Jesus. It is humility and a childlike character which is of the kingdom of God. Come to your husband in this manner to receive his instruction. Come as a humble child ready to learn.

Punishment also takes away any false sense of autonomy, which might leave you acting without the authority of your husband, or even against him. Autonomy creates chaos and battle, and removes the easy functioning of the home, replacing it with distance between spouses and conflict. It severs the parts of the body, harming it, making it inefficient. Forget about being independent or in control. You are placing yourself under the sculptor, who will shape, mold, and refine you. You are losing any false autonomy.

You should see the value in the refinement you receive. The spanking your lord gives you betters your character and behavior, removing your bad habits, whether apparently small ones like being tardy, and obviously terrible ones, like dangerous behavior. No longer puffed up, you can be perfected, and are now free from the domination of your ego to know the beautiful freedom in your husband’s protection.

6: You know in your heart it is fair, even if you fear it. As a mother who may have already spanked children, or who soon will as a parent to come, it is common sense to understand that getting spanked is fair. Wrongdoing gets punished. Offenders need to pay a price, and learn a lesson. They need to turn their behavior around. They need to learn respect for authority. Fear cannot get in the way of knowing this truth, which any woman knows, despite her desire to protest. It is a justice system in miniature, and no wrong will be done to you when you earn a spanking. It is punishment and restoration just like any other correction system, and in the case of marriage, one by a man who loves you deeply and is committed to you. Who better is there to put you on the right path? You should put aside any complaining because you know the spanking you’re going to get is earned.

7: It will hurt, and you can take it. No matter how horrible you imagine spanking to be, a grown woman can handle being spanked, and spanked hard. Millions of women do it. Not only can they handle it, but can learn to respond with the appropriate remorse and gain benefit in working on their behavior. If your husband is doing his job, he will make sure your spanking makes you sorry that you ever misbehaved, and makes you want to never repeat the behavior. It’s not medieval torture, but a sound spanking is supposed to hurt, making sure you don’t want to experience it again. There is soreness which may last a few days, and there are marks which may last long, but no real injury is done. Your bottom is built to take it, and you can.

8: It is an act of giving and of service to accept spanking. Whatever thoughts may be going through your head about running from your spanking, or about blocking the strokes, you need to remember that accepting your spanking is a way that you give yourself to your husband. That giving is a holy part of marriage. Your submission is a holy part of marriage. Despite the fear that may be there, hold on to the fact that your giving is a central part of your marriage, and actively present yourself as his wife to be corrected. Bend over and take all that he gives. It is a part of living out your submission, expressing your service to him, devotion, and love. Your husband will admire you for it.

9: Talk to your husband about any worries you have to feel more at ease, but do not refuse him. There are endless questions a wife may have before entering a marriage in which she knows she will be spanked, but there is comfort in sharing those with your husband, and listening to his answers. He may explain how he will handle you, and also give you tips and encouragement for how you can do well and avoid being spanked often. He will explain the purpose fully to you, a purpose which you should take to heart. Ask questions about the rules, the nature of punishment, and restoration, and seek any reassurance you need. There can be comfort and rest in the soul that way, even though a spanking can be an ordeal.

10: It probably will not be like your fantasy. Whether your fantasy is an erotic one, or a nightmare of pain and sorrow, most spankings do not live up to the imagination. It will not stimulate you in the way you may think, nor will it feel the first time how you expect it to feel. Your own responses may surprise you, as you respond to your remorse, your fear, wanting the spanking to be over, and your shame, all at once. It is an experience having to bite back on your pride, often harder than accepting other kinds of corrections. Over time, your husband and you will go through this experience numerous times, and then you will see more clearly what a spanking is and how it works on you. The fantasy is replaced with reality. Perhaps not as smoothly efficient and even erotic as the more positive fantasy, and not as horrifying as the fearful one. Let yourself find out over time what the experience will be, and how it will act on your heart.

11: Stumbling is not the end. Expect that even if you try hard to be good, you will falter and repeat the same wrong. It’s human. That is part of the journey of refinement, and you respond with repentance, and with further refinement. Your husband may help you with this, not only by giving you the needed discipline, but also by careful instruction, advice, and loving encouragement. Some behaviors may indeed improve quickly, but others will take years. This is not failure, but is a sign that the process requires work, learning, and repetition. Do not give up just because you fail. Look towards the end goal and persevere. Every couple has failings, and the victory is in persevering through them, and returning back to the path. Discipline is there as your helper, for a needed lesson over your man’s knee, but you also have to put in the work yourself, and set your heart on growing as a woman. It will all act together, and it will take time.

I hope these words of guidance help you grow as a disciplined wife.

“A nightmare of pain and sorrow,” that made me laugh because it hit a little too close to home. 😂

I appreciated this article because though I am not newly married, having this be a part of my marriage is quite new.

What stood out to me the most was the part about the shame that comes with needing correction. I didn’t expect to feel so seen there. There’s something so humbling (and sometimes discouraging) about realizing you need to be corrected and sometimes more than once, for the same issue. At times I feel like I’m failing, or letting my husband down when the same struggles keep coming back even after I’ve already been disciplined.

But I understand that patience and consistency are vital for a lasting change in some areas. It won’t be instant perfection. In fact I’ll likely never attain “perfection” in any given area, but I believe over time it will help me become more like Christ, which is the goal.

    1. Thank you for your comment. It is right that you strive for perfection in serving your husband, even though you know failure will happen at times, and repentance will be necessary. Shoot for the goal and no less. Blessings.

Oh, yes, I have been there, too! This is why I value the community here so much. It can be hard not to let shame overwhelm you when you have succumbed to the same sinful temptation yet again. But God does not expect me to be perfect all the time, and neither does my husband. Punishment cleanses us, restoring us to our man as the virtuous bride he married. This transformation should humble us greatly, but we should not feel shame in the process. I know this is harder said than done.

  2. My husband and I have now been living a CDD lifestyle for many years, but I can still vividly remember the feelings and thoughts I had prior to my first spanking. The thing that struck me most is that the physical pain of the spanking – which is what I had feared most of all – pales in comparison to the emotional journey you go on.

I was not at all prepared for the protestations my mind put up to the process. I had not expected that I would stand in front of him, listening to his instruction to remove my trousers and underwear, and simply be unable to comply. I had previously thought “it’s my husband, I’ve stripped in front of him many times”, but there are no words to describe just how different it is when you are being made to bare yourself for a spanking. It’s my own husband, yes, but the humiliation and shame that I felt upon being told to bare my bottom was overpowering. It is so humbling to have to willingly make yourself so vulnerable, to have to expose yourself for such a difficult reason. I cry every single time. I can’t help it, there’s just something about baring your bottom for a spanking that just strips you of any notions you might have of being equal to your husband, it quickly rids you of any sense of pride, entitlement or arrogance. It’s the most humbling thing I have ever experienced and I feel the same way every single time.

I don’t enjoy the process by any manner of means. In fact I feel a great deal of dread and apprehension prior to a spanking. I feel humbled, embarrassed, angry, sore, defiant, even more sore, accepting and remorseful, in that exact order! It resets things completely. Any tensions or lingering anger that other couples may have just dissipates afterwards. Once I regain my composure, he holds me so tightly and makes me feel so safe and loved. We feel even more in love after a spanking, as it clears the air, it reminds me of my place, it reminds me of HIS place!, it is a very cathartic and really quite emotional journey for us both and we always end up feeling better for it. Even if my bum hurts for a few hours or even days afterwards, my heart feels lighter. My love for my husband is stronger, as is my submission. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the process and I do anything possible to avoid it, but at the same time I do admit that it is an essential thing for us as a couple.

    1. Thank you. You describe discipline as a very deep and beautiful experience, despite the shame and temporary pain that goes along with it. Discipline is very bonding as a result, and reminds both man and wife of their roles.

I couldn’t agree with you more, CC! When my husband first introduced discipline, I knew to expect the pain, even if I didn’t fully comprehend how extensive it would be. But the emotional journey triggered by the pain has been the most surprising part of the process for me, and the most effective in changing my behavior. It is only when I am forced to give over my pride, my ego, my bloated sense of my own importance, that I can truly see the righteousness of his message. As a woman, it is my childish or irrational emotions which led me astray, and they are what must be purged from me. For men, I think the physicality of a spanking gives them a concrete sense of satisfaction, of putting things right, but for a woman, it’s simply the means to help her heart let go of sin. The pain of being spanked forces me to let go of what was impure within me, and while my bottom may be the point of contact, the true impact is felt within my soul. The days after a spanking are a very tender, loving, and intimate time for my husband and I, and like you, I believe this cycle of cleansing and reconnection is essential for the health of our marriage.

Long time reader, but first comment. Im a girl in my twenties and this has really been on my mind lately. Where do people actually meet others who share these values? I’ve really tried putting myself out there, but I keep running into men who either don’t seem interested in truly leading or don’t back up their words with their actions. Outside of church it feels even worse. I’d love to hear your advise or what has possibly worked for others…

    1. Hello Nicole, Thanks for your comment. I can sympathize with that problem, as it is not very rare, and men also have trouble finding women who are prepared to submit. Much can depend on the region where you live, as some areas are extremely liberal, where most people are highly indoctrinated against any real male authority. Other regions not so much so. I can only recommend that you tell men from the start you are looking for a traditional man who will lead and provide for the home. Then enter discussion about how that will work out later, and bring up the subject of discipline.

Like I say to men, the one you are looking for is not a finished product. He may not be all there in how to use authority, but if his heart is in the right place, he will learn and grow in leadership over time. Don’t give up. I’m sure readers will have some advice to share as well as their own experiences.

Nicole, I resonate with your comment but from the men’s perspective. Even on this site, I’ve met people (don’t even know if they’re actually women) who are just role players and not actually interested in living these values out. As a man, I can’t mention my desire for a CDD marriage in real life at church or else be labeled an abuser. So, it’s hard. Very hard, to find a spouse who truly holds these values.

If you are interested in meeting a single 36 year old missionary who does, email me. kennethedwardsee (at) gmail. Thanks and God Bless!

Nicole, I asked the same question when I was single. I once complained to my sisters that NO ONE was on my radar as regards to a possibility of marriage. I knew plenty of available females, but none of them loved the Lord or were committed to him in the way I wanted to be. It was very frustrating.
      .
The Psalms gave me comfort. First, Proverbs 18:22 told me that “he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.” Secondly, Psalm 84:11 told me that “the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. no good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
      .
Putting those two truths together gave me confidence to pursue an upright walk and let the Lord provide me with a wife in his own time. In other words, seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you.
      .
Long story short, God did just what he promised. I did not find my wife in any of the places I was looking. God brought her to me when the time was right and he made it very clear that this was his choice. And let me tell you, God is very good at picking who it is you need! The longer we are married the more I see God’s wisdom in putting the two of us together.
      .
Nicole, the question is not WHERE you will find the right husband, but FROM WHOM you will receive him. A godly husband is a good thing, and the Apostle James tells us that every good and perfect gift is from above. Yes, do your looking and investigating and keeping your eyes open for that hunk of your dreams. But most of all, ask God for the one he chooses for you at the time he chooses and in the way he chooses. Then seek to walk uprightly, wait patiently, and leave the rest to Him.

Thank you again for this wonderful article, which can be shared easily. In our situation, my mom is spanked by her new husband, my step-dad. At the time my husband and I started dating and got seriously, my mom and step-dad brought up the topic of spanking in marriage. The four of us did have a frank discussion on the topic then. Knowing that other women, namely my mom, also, were spanked helped put me in the frame of mind – if she is spanked, why should I not be subject to the same discipline from my husband.

My husband agreed completely. I did not look forward to and kind of dreaded that first real spanking I got from my husband, however, after the tears dried and the discomfort of sitting disappeared after a couple days, I felt a relief of learning what happens when boundaries are broken. I learned that that first spanking was a preview of what will happen when I do not behave as expected. I felt better knowing that me getting spanked was not an exception.

Thank you, Aron, for sharing this very wise advice with the women in your audience. I am not new to discipline, of course, but every point you made here is an important reminder for me, and I can already tell that this article will become one of my favorites that I return to often. It’s clear from your writing how well you understand the woman’s experience in a disciplined marriage, and I believe that is a direct result of how deeply you care for your wife and seek to understand her needs. It was the unique mix of tenderness and firmness that you modeled, so different from what sinful bondage kinks can promise, which helped open my eyes to the quiet strength of the man who became my husband, and I thank God for that everyday.

    Some of favorite take-aways:

Accepting correction from my husband with grace and humility is a beautiful way for me to honor him and show how very much I respect him as the head of our marriage. My husband acknowledges that this isn’t always easy for me to do and has praised me for learning to withstand the just and fair consequences of my actions.

Eliminating spanking entirely from our marriage may never be possible (my husband and I are in agreement on this), but his expectation is that the frequency should naturally reduce over time, as I am made better by his hand. It is my job, as you said, to “put in the work” myself, and seek to learn all I can from not just the difficult moments spent over his knee, but the daily leadership and guidance his headship provides.

Finally, true growth in a wife is only possible when she trusts her man completely, placing herself fully in his hands, accepting his sovereign authority and allowing him to shape her as God intended when He bound them together in holy matrimony.

Blessings to you, your very lucky wife, and all of the lovely wives out there who come here seeking your advice (whether they’ve met the man God has chosen for them yet or not),

    1. Thank you, Sophia. I know you are a treasure to your husband.

I can tell you I still get butterflies when I know I’m going to get spanked despite knowing I could take the pain i still get nervous as a little girl. But I take great pride in serving him and following his lead.
    – Lisa

    1. That’s great. Accepting your punishment with grace and learning from it are one form of service as well. It is normal to get a little nervous before you are spanked.

  7. I believe that once married in the beginning stage for 4 weeks, a new wife needs to be on maintenance spanking and have her clothes completely removed at all times of the day. This is purposeful in drilling a sense of vulnerability and submission with her. I believe that kind words said out of love and in softness can and may help her in encouraging her to be the best wife she could be. It takes two to tango. The husband needs to be established in himself and the lady must have a will to submit to her new master and caretaker. God bless!!!!!

DOM, you are excellently expressing the male view of future marriage, and are already aware of the female’s need for “kind words said out of love and softness.” Chances are, your future wife is also planning for that first month of marriage, and she will likely want to TALK the whole four weeks. Just as men want physical vulnerability, women want emotional vulnerability. As much as you want her body to be open and on display, she will likely want your thoughts and feelings to be open and on display. She may even see her submission as a way to get this emotional intimacy. This is one of the first roadblocks we face as newlywed dominant husbands, and you can’t just spank your way through it without damaging your relationship or your wife.
    .
It will immensely help your future wife to yield her outer self to you in every way if you prepare yourself now to share your inner self with her. As always, Jesus Christ is the perfect example. He requires our obedience, yet shares with us (his spiritual bride) what he is doing. For example, look at John 15:14,15 – “ You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.“
    .
So does Jesus tell us everything? No, and there may be things that you keep to yourself to be revealed to your wife at the proper time, as in Acts 1:7 – “ He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.”
    .
What is important is that you continue to share your mind and heart with your future wife after you are married. It is easy to do before you are married. This is not so that she can take the superior position, but so that you may have unity as a couple. See 1 Corinthians 2:16 – “‘For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.”
    .
This post is my opinion, and you may take it with a grain of salt or perhaps throw it out the window. But you will find it much easier to accomplish what you want if you are tuned in to what she wants… and how God designed you as a couple.
    .
All the best to you, DOM!

    1. Sometimes speech coming from the husband must be stern but never loud. It sometimes needs to be said softly in order to steer the lady onto the right path. Stern speech, spankings, punishment is one wall. The other wall is softness, privileges, rewards and intimacy. These two walls together lead to harmony in the home. God willing I will find someone to marry soon to share a life with and have lots of beautiful children.

These are great tips. I think what stood out to me was your tips about autonomy. “ Autonomy creates chaos and battle, and removes the easy functioning of the home, replacing it with distance between spouses and conflict,” there is so much truth in this sentence that spoke to me about my own actions and the impact of trying to take control. Thanks for this! -Katie

    1. You’re welcome, Katie. I’m glad you can see that autonomy causes problems in the home. I hope these words of advice help nourish your marriage.

Thank you so much for this, I have read it many times. Every tip is very helpful but the ones I struggle the most with are fears; which breaks down trust; which leads into autonomy and then all the sin that flows out of that, leads me into despair.
I will work at putting on the virtues that displace these sins and will be very honest with my husband about my negative thoughts so that he can help me to take them captive.

    1. You’re welcome. Always be open with your husband about any fears you have, and respond to his guidance for you with trust. Trust is at the heart of marriage, as it is at the heart of discipline. Blessings.
